YARMOUTH, N.S. — Blending jazz, hillbilly, folk and home-brewed Canadian ballads, Ryan Cook & Sunny Acres will perform in Yarmouth on Oct. 5 at the Red Knight.
They’ll also be touring 13 other locations in the Maritimes.
The show includes Ryan Cook on lead vocals and acoustic guitar, Kye Ehresman on drums, Dave Campbell on pedal steel, Jill Chambers on upright bass and Phil Sedore on lead guitar. The five-piece band will be joined on rotation by harmony vocalists Ruth Manning, Terra Spencer and Graham Moorehead.
Each concert will see the band perform songs from Cook’s four award-winning albums, including Music Nova Scotia's 2018 Country Recording of the Year, Having a Great Time, plus a special medley to Buck Owens & The Bakersfield Sound.
Familiar songs from Owens’ distinct and well-known catalog will be featured, including A Tiger by the Tail, Waitin in your Welfare Line, Together Again and collaborations and cover songs that Owens worked into his shows by artists such as Simon & Garfunkel, Ringo Starr, The Band and Dwight Yoakam.
