TRURO, N.S. — The members of Brigid are uniting their voices to help celebrate the Christmas season.
Sarah McKim-Glinz, Beth Terry, and Emma Smit-Geraghty are taking "What Christmas Means to Me" to the stage in Truro, Tatamagouche and Dartmouth.
“If I wasn’t performing around Christmas, I think I’d feel something was missing,” said McKim-Glinz. “Some people think it’s crazy to do this during such a busy time, but it’s something I love to do. It’s definitely part of our holiday season.”
Brigid will be accompanied by a full band as they share both traditional and contemporary pieces.
They’ve also partnered with an organization to support at each location. The Dartmouth show will support Better Together Nova Scotia, an organization that provides services to people in need. In Tatamagouche, the Oddfellows Liberty Lodge, which operates a Christmas Index Program, will benefit. Part of the proceeds from the Truro show will go to First United Church.
“The church is a musical hub for the community and hosts events year round,” said McKim-Glinz. “It’s an amazing venue, especially at Christmas.”
The Truro show will be held at the church and the women, who are music teachers, will be joined by some of their students for a couple of numbers.
Tickets are $20 for general admission, $15 for students.
The Dartmouth show is Dec. 13 at 7 p.m. at First Baptist Church, and the Tatamagouche show is Dec. 14 at 7 p.m. at Sharon United Church. Tickets for these shows are available at the door and through Eventbrite.
Brigid will perform in Truro on Dec. 18 at 7 p.m. at First United Church. Tickets can be purchased at MacQuarries Esplanade location, at the church office, and at the door.
