TRURO, N.S. — People are encouraged to bring their picnic food and their sense of fun to Victoria Park on Sunday.

International Picnic Day celebrations are being held in the park on June 23 from noon until 4 p.m.

“When the idea was brought by my constituent and friend Honorah Shepherd I thought it was terrific,” said Truro Town Councillor Cathy Hinton.

The day will include children’s activities, a police care and fire truck, and music by the Truro Concert Band, Truro Drum Runners, and Bob and CJ Prest.

Truro Mayor Bill Mills will act as MC and Hinton will be on the information desk.

“We are hoping for sunny skies, but we can’t sweat the small stuff,” she said. “All of us just want a fun afternoon at our beautiful Victoria Park.”
