SYDNEY, N.S. — Della Hawco, of Whitney Pier, chats with Jimmy Tighe, a wood craftsman from Lingan, while looking at some of his festive hand-crafted wooden bears and other woodwork at the Home Crafters of Cape Breton, Christmas Festival of Crafts at Centre 200 in Sydney, Friday.
Hawco said she loves craft shows, never misses them and always heads to the woodworking tables first, her favourite.
The craft show, called "The Big One", is described as the biggest craft show on the island, with more than 220 tables of quality crafts by local crafters and artisans. The show opened Friday and continues Saturday from 10 a.m.- 6 p.m. and Sunday from noon to 5 p.m. Admission is $2 and children under 12 are admitted free.
