Saturday at the Nova Scotia Music Week saw a slew of both rap and rock music bringing down the house at venues across Truro.
As Halifax rappers such as Matthew Quake and Thrillah Kane honoured their Nova Scotian roots and unleashed fast-paced lyrics reminiscent of the rap battles some once fought, folk-punk rockers The Stanfields played before a packed house at the Truro Legion.
They were joined by other artists, such as solo performer Cameron Nickerson, who specializes in roots music, a Nova Scotian staple.
