Truro Police Service holding seniors’ safety information event

TRURO, N.S. —

An event filled with information to help seniors will be held in Truro during the afternoon of Jan. 30.

Doug MacDonald, the Truro Police Service seniors’ safety coordinator, will facilitate presentations connected with health and safety.

Becky Langille and John Gatto, geriatric clinicians, will share information on services available at the seniors’ clinic. Heather Maddison, coordinator of education and outreach with the Alzheimer Society of Nova Scotia, will give a presentation on services available through that program, and Jennifer Hickey, outreach agent with the home warming program, will let people know how to access energy assessments.

There will also be an overview of services available to seniors in the area.

This event will take place in the community room of the Truro Fire station from 1-4 p.m.
