The Board of Directors of the Colchester Community Workshops appointed Susan McCallum as the organization’s new executive director.
She has been with the workshops since 1989, and has served as operations manager since 2009.
“I am excited and grateful for the opportunity to serve as the executive director of the Colchester Community Workshops” said McCallum. “I have dedicated my entire professional life to this organization, and look forward to continuing this work in a leadership role.”
The position was publicly posted and several people were interviewed before a decision was made.
“Susan was the best candidate for the job, and her years of service to the workshops will serve as a tremendous asset as she transitions into her new role,” said Dave Mills, chair of the board.
McCallum replaces Don Hoadley, who retired in January.
The Colchester Community Workshops provides service to 80 clients with intellectual disabilities, operating nine programs, including buttons and ribbons production, the New-to-You store, the Intercolonial Café, and the Community Employment program.
