Non-profit groups hoping to cross projects off their ‘to-do’ lists could benefit from the United Way’s Day of Caring.
On one day each year, United Way of Colchester County organizes volunteers ready to assist with special projects.
Activities could include cleaning, painting, gardening, providing a learning opportunity, and working on small improvement projects.
Volunteer teams represent local United Way supporters, and some of them bring family members along to help out during the day.
United Way Executive Director Terry Hearn said Day of Caring activities give people a chance to learn more about the agencies their donation dollars support, and organizations meet some of their donors face-to-face.
The Community Credit Union is the presenting sponsor for the event.
Project proposal submissions are due April 30, with the Day of Caring taking place Sat., June 15. To receive a submission form, or to learn more, contact the United Way at 902-895-9313 or email@example.com.
