People will be celebrating their differences as Truro’s first Disability Pride march takes place Friday afternoon.
The walk will begin at the Colchester Community Workshops (CCW) and finish at the Civic Square, where local agencies will have booths set up. There will be a barbecue in support of Special Olympics, cake and music.
“Everyone is welcome to join in the walk and to drop by the Civic Square,” said Susan McCallum, executive director at the CCW. “We invite people to come out and gain awareness and celebrate what makes us unique.
As part of the efforts to advance the disability pride movement, walks are being held throughout Nova Scotia during June.
The walk begins at 1 p.m. and activities at the Civic Square will continue until about 3 p.m.
