Baby shower being held for wild wee ones

Baby animals, like this porcupette, are cute, but it can cost a lot to raise them. The Cobequid Wildlife Rehabilitation Centre is holding a baby shower to collect some of the items needed to care for the injured and orphaned wildlife babies who will soon be arriving.

TRURO, N.S. —

It’s baby season for wildlife and a shower is being held to gather some of the items needed to care for injured and orphaned little ones.

The shower is being held at the Truro Farmers’ Market on April 20, from 9 a.m.-1 p.m.

Items on the wish list include unsalted peanuts in the shell, corn on the cob, songbird seed mix (without corn), unsalted raw nuts, mealworms, Down East cleaner, unscented disinfecting wipes, pet carriers, and heat lamps and bulbs.

Gift cards for grocery stores, gas stations, pet supply stores, pharmacies, feed stores, hardware stores and Amazon are very helpful, as they allow the centre to buy things as they’re needed.

The wish list can be found online at http://tinyurl.com/wishlisttruro

The CWRC will also have t-shirts, art, crafts, colouring books and more for sale at the farmers’ market booth.
People can order specialized items from the Amazon wish list, found at tinyurl.com/cwrcwishlist , any time and have their gift delivered directly to the centre.

The CWRC is a registered charity and tax receipts are issued for cash donation of $20 or more.
