TRURO, N.S. — TRURO, N.S. – A new slate of officers and directors was elected during the Truro and Colchester Chamber of Commerce’s recent annual general meeting.
Ron Smith, manager of business development for Old Fletcher Farm Property Limited, a division of Masstown Market Limited, was chosen president for a one-year term.
“Our community shows continuous improvements and growth in commercial, industrial, residential and social infrastructure,” he said during the March 13 meeting. “The last number of years have shown large-scale investment in both public and private construction projects from our rural areas to our revitalized downtown cores.”
Outgoing president Joanne McRae, senior manager with MNP, said there were many accomplishments to celebrate during the past year and she looks forward to continuing her work with the board.
At the end of 2018 there were 431 members with the Truro and Colchester Chamber of Commerce, making it the largest Chamber in Nova Scotia outside metro.
The Chamber issued a call for nominations for BDC Business Person of the Year and the Community Credit Union Business Excellence awards. Deadline for nominations is April 1.
