Jim Treliving, owner of Boston Pizza International Inc., was in Truro Tuesday for the grand-opening celebration of the casual dining restaurant on Robie Street.
Treliving seemed at ease throughout the evening as he mingled with the crowd, had his photo taken with staff and customers and received a grand tour of the restaurant, courtesy of co-franchisees Jason and Pam Williams and Greg Whynot.
About 160 people attended the invite-only celebration.
Treliving is also a well-known TV personality. He is a potential investor “dragon” in business propositions made by aspiring entrepreneurs on the CBC show Dragons’ Den. He is known as the “loving dragon.”
Treliving also co-owns the collective investment portfolio T&M Group of Companies.
Treliving was in Halifax this week for Hockey Canada Foundation’s 13th annual celebrity classic gala and golf tournament. He played golf Tuesday at Glen Arbour in Hammonds Plains before coming to the Hubtown.
