TRURO, N.S. — Rebecca LaPointe is celebrating women in business, through the second annual Booshfest.
The event brings businesswomen, their products and services, to the public in a family-friendly outdoor location.
“We’re celebrating each other and connecting,” said LaPointe, who owns Beck & Boosh.
“Last year’s event was great, even though it rained. We were thinking about cancelling but Margaret (Congdon) said we could hold it under the farmers’ market canopy. This year we’re hoping for good weather.”
Last year, 17 businesswomen took part. This year there are 20 participants, and more were interested.
“There were at least 10 I had to turn down, and I hate to do that, so I’ll see if I can get more space next year,” said LaPointe. “I’m working on making it better every year.
Booshfest will include petting farm, mechanical bull, pony rides, dance performance, photo booth, artisan works, food, drinks, clothing and jewelry. A silent auction will also be held, with money raised going to The Lotus Centre.
It will take place Sunday, May 26, from 11 a.m.-3 p.m. at 43 Forrester Street. The rain location is under the canopy of the Truro Farmers’ Market.
