COME BY CHANCE, N.L. — North Atlantic Refining Limited Partnership (NARL) has been nominated for a 2019 S&P Global Platts energy award.

The Newfoundland-based company is one of eight companies shortlisted for the award of excellence, which recognizes "exceptional operational and financial performance in an ever-changing industry" and a company's "focus on innovative solutions, financial performance, and social and environmental responsibility, which all play a role in the company's ability to maintain focus and growth during volatile times."

NARL credits the nod to top-quartile performance in a number of key areas, driven by the company’s focus on innovation.

Once a self-described niche refinery, NARL is on track to become the fourth-largest refinery in Canada by 2021.

“We have a vision for the future.” NARL CEO Thomas Jenke stated in a release. “Excellence is at the core of our strategy, and we will continue to innovate to ensure the long term viability of NARL, our competitive advantage, and our commitment to Newfoundland and Labrador."

Winners of the 2019 Platts Global Energy Awards will be announced Dec. 12 in New York City.
