Halifax energy conglomerate Emera Inc., released its information circular Monday in advance of its May 15 annual meeting.

The circular provides the compensation figures for top executives in fiscal 2018.

With Scott Balfour assuming the role of president and CEO in 2018, base salary was $986,677; share-based awards $2.1 million, option-based awards $699,846; annual incentive plans $1.7 million; pension value $634,000; other compensation $35,993; total compensation of $6.12 million.

Chris Huskilson, the former president and CEO who retired March 29, 2018, had basic pay of $321,538; other compensation $1.5 million — an amount in lieu of receiving a short-term and long-term incentive grants — total compensation $1.8 million.

Greg Blunden, CFO, had a base salary of $500,000, but all other awards and benefits brought total compensation to $2.13 million.

Nancy Tower, president and CEO of Tampa Electric Co, had base pay of $600,000, and adding awards and incentives her total compensation was $2.63 million.

Rob Bennett, president and CEO of Emera Technologies Ltd., had a base pay of $615,458 but his total compensation, with the addition of awards and incentives, was $2.1 million.

Bruce Marchand, Emera’s chief legal and compliance officer, had a base pay of $448,096 and $1.69 million total compensation.
