TRURO - Another new business is planning to open shop in the Truro Mall.

"We have great products, great toys and I think it will be a great fit for Truro," said David Corning, owner of Just For Learning, an educational toy and teacher's resource supplier

The store, which will be slightly over 1,100 sq. ft. in size, is slated to open March 1st between the La Senza and Eclipse shops in the mall.

"It's kind of a family business, not a family name," Corning said, regarding the fact his parents own two stores that sell similar educational resources in Antigonish called Teach Me, while his brother owns two stores in the Halifax area called Brain Candy.

Corning's inventory will include games, puzzles, science kits, wooden toys and will also be an exclusive area distributor for Playmobil products.

And while Corning expects to put in the bulk of the required store hours during the initial stages of operation, he said he will be hiring a fulltime employee, possibly for a manager position, and expects to have a staff of about four people eventually.

The Antigonish native has also recently relocated to Truro to live.

The Truro Mall also recently celebrated the arrival of a new 3,000-square-foot clothing store, called Pseudio, which opened just in time for the Christmas shopping season. And property manager Donald Burton said he is also hoping to announce a couple more new additions to the shopping centre in the near future.
