Exactly one year after opening, Grammy’s Thrift Store has moved into larger premises.

Laura and John McFadden opened the business on Pictou Road on August 1, 2017, and they’ve now relocated it to 109 Robie Street.

“We’re getting a lot of new people already. There were over 100 people in the first day we were here.”

The shop includes clothing, books, antiques, furniture, collectables, jewellery, lamps and more.

Special deals are offered through the shop’s Facebook page. Posts can be shared to win things, and Laura posts a ‘word of the day’ that shoppers can mention to save money on purchases.

The name of the business comes from the fact that the McFaddens live with their grandsons Brandon, 7, and Daniel, 4, and Laura is used to being called Grammy every day.
