The Canada Border Services Agency and the Halifax International Airport Authority have implemented fingerprint verification for biometrically enrolled foreign nationals and permanent residents using primary inspection kiosks at Halifax Stanfield International Airport.

The government is using the technology to establish that a person seeking entry is the same person who was issued their visa, permit or permanent residence documentation, according to a news release.

Biometric-enabled kiosks are next-generation technology that offer self-service options for international air travellers arriving in Canada. There are 24 at the Halifax airport.
