Halifax International Airport Authority is naming roads after historical figures connected to Canadian aviation.

Major Walter Peters was the first African-Canadian fighter pilot and Mabel Hubbard Bell, independently wealthy wife of inventor Alexander Graham Bell, is credited as one of the first women to invest in the aviation industry.

Halifax Stanfield stated in a news release that it named roads in their honour, given their historical significance and meaningful contributions to Nova Scotia and, in particular, aviation.
