Rams women’s soccer team moves into first place

BIBLE HILL, N.S. – The Dal AC Rams have taken over sole possession of first place in the Atlantic Colleges Athletic Association women’s soccer league.

The Rams won their second straight game on Wednesday, a 2-0 victory over the Kings Blue Devils, to improve their record to 3-1-2.

Dal-AC has 11 points, one ahead of the St. Thomas Tommies (3-2-1) and Holland Hurricanes (3-2-1).

In the win over King’s, Leah Wiseman scored on a penalty kick in the 42nd minute to give the Rams a 1-0 lead. The home team hit the scoresheet again in the 60th minute when Sian Rankin put a header past King’s keeper Chanel Zhouri.

Summer Nasr earned the shutout for the Rams.

The Rams next action is Sunday when they visit the Mount Saint Vincent Mystics.

In men’s action, the Rams fell behind early and suffered a 4-1 loss to the Blue Devils.

Al Loureio of Dal-AC broke Sam White’s shutout bid in the 79th minute.

Rams keeper Bailey Fraser was called on to make several big saves to keep his team in the hunt.

The Dal-AC men’s team is sixth in the seven-team conference with a record of 1-5-0. The Rams are also in action on Sunday at Mount Saint Vincent.
