WENTWORTH - Hub Cycle riders had a strong showing at the recent 2009 Wentworth Spokebender Classic cross country mountain bike race at Ski Wentworth.
The event was the final race of the 2009 provincial series.
Hub Cycle's Jeff Simms came home fourth in the 27km A division in 1:42.09. Cyclesmith's Andrew L'Esperance won the event in 1:34.55. Nathan St. Onge, also of Hub Cycle was 13th (2:19.31) while teammate Justin St. Onge rounded out the field in 14th in 2:22.33. Hub Cycle's Isaac Benvie won the 18km B division in 1:14.59, while Greg Barr was third in 1:19.22. Conor Scallion was fourth in 1:19.31 and Matthew Benvie was 10th in 1:32.31.
Following are other Hub Cycle riders' results: C Division - 1st Ben Boutilier, 41.50; 4th Parker Caudle, 47.55; 6th Roy Rasmussen, 49.04; 8th Josh Gaudreault, 57.17; 10th Daniel Harrington, 1:04.05.
Under 15 Boys - 1st Brent Noble, 35.38; 7th Nathan Caudle, 45.48.
Under 13 Boys - 1st Elijah Belliveau, 39.52; 2nd Noah Patriquin, 45.46.
