Brookfield’s Sears taken by Mariners

TRURO, N.S. – Brookfield’s Rowan Sears was selected by the Yarmouth Mariners in the 10th round of the Maritime Junior Hockey League draft Saturday.

Sears, a six-foot-two, 160 pound forward, played for the Weeks Major Midgets last season, scoring three goals and adding 13 assists in 34 regular-season games.

Sears was one of many Colchester County players selected in the draft.

Others include Riley MacInnis (Valley), Hunter Martin (Amherst), Chase Carter (Edmundston), Cam Patton (Yarmouth) and Cam Allaby (Valley).

Last week, the Truro Bearcats made Gavin Hart and Carson Lanceleve territorial selections.
