Kamryn Matheson started the scoring by returning the opening kick-off 70 yards for a touchdown while Mike Adams added the extra point. The Bulldogs then marched down the field on their opening drive for a touchdown but missed the extra point.

The Truro team scored again in the first quarter, making the score 14-6 before tacking on several more TDs throughout the game.

The Freightliners had touchdowns from Matheson, Jordan Waller, Torro Gabrielli and Adams. Gabrielli, Adams, Matheson and Connor Richardson also picked up interceptions. Matheson was named player of the game.

The Bombers season did not get off to the great start they were expecting as they ran into a buzz saw in the visiting Valley Bulldogs and dropped their season home opener, 22-0.

While the offense struggled, one bright spot for the Bombers on defense was Isaac Fraser with multiple tackles throughout the game, earning player of the game honours for his team.

The Tide found a hard-fought battle in their season opener, losing 21-7 to the Bulldogs. Strong offensive play came from Quinn Hayden and Dante Gabrielli. Jase Langille and Aidan Johnson led the Tide defence with strong performances.
