Elks taken down by first-place Colts

BROOKFIELD, N.S. – The Brookfield Elks suffered their 10th loss of the season on Thursday in the Nova Scotia Junior Hockey League.

The Elks fell 7-1 to the high-flying Cole Harbour Colts.

The league-leading Colts (10-1-2-0) led 2-1 after the first period and 4-1 after 40 minutes.

The Elks (1-7-1-2) return to action Saturday when they visit the Glace Bay Miners (9-1-0-1).

Next Thursday, Brookfield hosts the Liverpool Privateers for a 7:30 p.m. start at the Don Henderson Memorial Sportsplex.
