BROOKFIELD, N.S. – The Antigonish Bulldogs scored four times in the third period and rolled to a 7-2 victory over the Brookfield Elks on Thursday in the Nova Scotia Junior Hockey League.
The loss dropped the Elks to 2-15-1-2, while the Bulldogs went to 9-11-0-2.
The game was tied 1-1 after the first period while Antigonish took a 3-1 cushion into the third.
Taylor Leger and Ryan Kennedy each scored two goals for the Bulldogs, while Conor Fraser, Dylan MacLean and Blair Fraser netted single markers. Antigonish scored three power-play goals and a shorthanded marker.
Cole Fielding and Gavynn Carter scored power-play goals for the Elks.
Brookfield goalie Landon Campbell faced 38 shots, while his counterpart, Jared Green, stopped 19 shots for the Bulldogs.
The Elks next action is Thursday, Dec. 14 when they host the rival East Hants Penguins (Don Henderson Memorial Sportsplex, 7:30 p.m.). Following a Dec. 16 road game in Cole Harbour, the Elks break for the holidays and don’t see action again until Jan. 6 when they visit the Liverpool Privateers.
