BROOKFIELD, N.S. – Tyler Medaglia enjoyed another great weekend on the bike and moved into second place on the Rockstar Energy Drink national motocross series.
The Brookfield rider raced to moto scores of 4-1 to take the top podium spot for the day during Round 6 on the national circuit at Gopher Dunes in Courtland, Ont.
Medaglia has 281 points on the outdoor series and trails first-place Colton Facciotti (Aylmer, Ont.) by 25 points. Kaven Benoit (Bon Conseil, Que.) and Cole Thompson (Brigden, Ont.) are tied for third with 280, while Matt Goerke (Panama City Beach, Fla.) rounds out the top five with 276 points.
Medaglia’s success on Saturday came on the heels of a second-place finish (4-2) at the July 7 race event in Sand Del Lee, near Ottawa.
Medaglia, 30, who rides a Kawasaki for Huber Motorsports, is fourth on the Triple Crown series, which includes events in arenacross, motocross and supercross disciplines. The top five in the Triple Crown series are Thomson (475), Facciotti (467), Goerke (425), Medaglia (413) and Dillan Epstein (357). Halifax’s Davey Fraser is 10th.
Medaglia returns to the Maritimes next weekend, July 28, for Round 7 at Riverglade MX Park near Moncton.
