Bearcats Pickard, Burton crack MHL all-star roster

TRURO, N.S. – Two members of the Truro Bearcats have been named to the Maritime Junior Hockey League all-star team competing in this month’s Eastern Canada Cup Challenge tournament in Ontario.

Campbell Pickard and Dylan Burton have been selected for Team Eastlink, which will play at the tournament Nov. 13 to 15 in Quinte West, Ont.

Pickard, captain of the Bearcats, leads the team in scoring with 12 goals and eight assists in 15 games. The 20-year-old is playing his final season of junior hockey.

Burton, 18, is a second-year forward who has three goals and eight points this season.  

Truro Bearcats head coach Shawn Evans will coach the MHL all-star team for the third straight year.

The Eastern Canada Cup Challenge will feature one team from the Maritime and Northern Ontario junior leagues, two teams each from the Central Ontario and Quebec junior leagues and four teams from the Ontario Junior Hockey League.
