Friday, in Sydney, the Bearcats opened the weekend with a 3-1 victory over the Sooners; Sydney rebounded Saturday to take a 4-1 decision.
The split means Truro, with a record of 8-18, remains one game up on Kentville Wildcats (6-18) for fourth place in the five-team league, where four clubs advance to the post season.
Jason Smith picked up the win Friday and Dan Bates had two singles and closed out the game on the mound for the save. Kenny Long got tagged with the loss in relief of Devin Mahoney.
After starting the season 0-12 the Bearcats have gone on quite a roll.
Truro has two games remaining, both against Dartmouth Moosehead Dry (14-9), slated for Friday, Sept. 1 and Sunday, Sept. 3. Both games are 7:30 p.m. starts at Truro’s TAAC Grounds.
Kentville has four games remaining. Tuesday they are in Halifax for a game with the Pelham Molson Canadians (15-10) and they host Sydney for a three-game series on Labour Day weekend.
