Intermediate Bearcats swept by Shamrocks

TRURO, N.S. – The Truro Bearcats were swept by the Hantsport Shamrocks in a Nova Scotia Intermediate Baseball League doubleheader on Sunday.

The Shamrocks blanked the Bearcats 3-0 in Game 1 and earned a 13-9 victory in Game 2.

In the opener, Shamrocks pitcher Matt Loy allowed just three hits and struck out five in a complete-game shutout.

No statistics were available for the second contest.

Truro (1-7) returns to the diamond on Sunday when it visits the Pictou County Albions for two games in Stellarton, beginning at 1 p.m.
