Curran, Bowers lead Blue Jays over Yankees

TRURO, N.S. – Steve Curran doubled and Will Bowers singled to lead the Blue Jays to an 11-8 win over the Yankees in Bible Hill-Truro Minor Baseball Association peewee/bantam division.

Jake McDonald, Isaac Crowe and Gage Pratt pitched for the Blue Jays.

Zach McNutt singled and doubled for the Yankees and Dawson Gilbert stroked a pair of singles, while Mason Trask, Keegan Skinner, Sam Walker and Nate Davison saw mound duty.

Masstown Hardware Tide 11, Pirates 6

Zachary Dykstra delivered a pair of doubles for Masstown, while Michael Peters went 2-for-2 with a triple and a single.

Tide pitchers Elijah Stewart, Kohl Lockhart, Colby Spencer, Cole Turner and Bryan Spence combined for eight strikeouts.

Jaedan MacNeil had two singles and a walk for the Pirates, while Zachary Wilson doubled and scored a run.

Pitcher Ethan Flemming had a strong outing.

Mets 10, Red Sox 6

Evan Hennigar pitched a couple of great innings for the Mets and helped out offensively with a double.

Brody Porter tripled in the win and Brooke Thompson doubled. Dawson Bird who also pitched well.  

For the Red Sox, Chase Upham had his first steal of home, while catcher Carson Upham was stellar behind the plate.

Tristan Albert knocked in two runs and Chayanne Johnson-Benoit played well defensively, catching infield fly balls.
