TRURO, N.S. – The Truro Bearcats return to the diamond this weekend for a pair of home games in the Nova Scotia Senior Baseball League.
The Bearcats host the Sydney Sooners on Sunday for a doubleheader at the TAAC Grounds at 1 and 4 p.m.
Truro (4-16) enters the contest after a 13-6 loss to the Halifax Pelham Canadians on Tuesday in a fog-shortened game that was called in the seventh inning.
Sydney (11-7) will visit the Kentville Wildcats (6-14) for a doubleheader on Saturday.
On Tuesday, Justin Morton homered, doubled and drove in two runs for the Bearcats, while Dan Chisholm singled, doubled and had two RBI and Adam Lombard had two singles and drove in a run. Greg MacKinnon led the Canadians with two doubles, two singles and four RBI, while Shawn Walsh drove in three runs on three singles.
Mark Pelham was the winning pitcher and Jamie MacLean suffered the loss.
Halifax outhit Truro 21-10.
