TRURO, N.S. – The Cobequid Cougars edged the Sackville Kingfishers 25-20 Sunday in a Nova Scotia School Athletic Federation Football League tilt at James Macpherson Stadium.
It was the final regular season game for the Cougars, who improved to 3-5. The playoff schedule will be released today.
CEC quarterback Riley Gabriel was 5-for-8 passing for 77 yards and two touchdowns. He also had 11 carries for 76 yards.
Running back Toro Gabrielli carried the ball 12 times for 73 yards and scored a touchdown, while receiver Mike Adams had four catches for 73 yards and two major scores.
On defence, Jordan Waller led the Cougars with six tackles, one sack and one fumble recovery. Dylan Benoit had four tackles and one forced fumble and Connor Richardson added four tackles.
