Dancers from Arie Dance Company have been getting some notice at recent competitions. Arie Dance Company's Junior and Senior companies attended four dance competitions around the Maritimes this spring, and earned significant recognition for their efforts.
They took part in Showdown Dance Competition, Limelight Dance Competition Halifax, Champions Dance Competition and Limelight Dance Competition Moncton.
The Junior andSenior companies competed in contemporary, lyrical, jazz, hip hop, and tap with seven solos, two duos, one trio, and seven group routines. Led and choreographed by their instructor, Bre Roy, the dancers brought home 175 medals, two third place overall awards, three top mark trophies, and multiple special awards.
The biggest accomplishment for Arie Dance Company's Junior and Senior Companies was the Spirit Award they received at Limelight Dance Competition Halifax in memory of Breagh MacNeil. This award was chosen by the backstage staff and is presented to the school that shows the most amazing spirit and passion for dance. Arie Dance Company was selected out of 31 dance schools that attended the competition.
Arie Dance Company is heading into Season 2 and will be holding auditions for the 2017-18 companies on Sunday, June 4 at 1027 Prince Street, Truro.
Mini Company, for ages five to nine, is 3 to 3:30 p.m. for registration and
3:30 to 4:30 p.m., for auditions.
Junior Company, for ages nine to 13 is from 5 to 5:30 p.m. for registration and 5:30 to 6:30 p.m. for auditions.
And Senior Company for ages 13 to 17 is from 7 to 7:30 p.m. for registration and 7:30 to 8:30 p.m. for auditions.
Dancers are to wear black, form-fitting dance attire with their hair in a clean ponytail or bun. Contact Bre at email@example.com for more details.
