Truro cheer teams dominant again

HALIFAX - The Truro All-Star Cheerleading Company made its mark on yet another Cheer Nova Scotia competition Sunday in Halifax.

Truro teams claimed three division wins and a pair of runner-up finishes at Maritime Meltdown at Exhibition Park.

The Truro Tigers, who will compete at the Universal Cheerleaders Association International All-Star Championship in Kissimmee, Fla., March 15 and 16, won the seven-team small youth level 1 category at the two-day event and also laid claim to the overall youth level champion award.

The Truro Leopards won the youth level 2 division while the Truro Cheetahs finished atop the large youth level 1 division.

Truro also claimed second-place finishes in the senior level 4.2 and senior level 2 categories. The senior 2 team also won the best choreography award.

The Tigers have won all three competitions they've entered this season while the Leopards have two wins and a third-place finish and the Cheetahs hold a pair of wins and a fourth-place result.

Both senior squads had a pair of wins before the weekend's runner-up result.
