RCMP corporal returns to defend pie-eating title

TRURO - Local celebrities will participate in a pie-eating contest to kick off the Wild Blueberry Harvest Festival.

Colchester RCMP Cpl. Addie Mccallum enters this year's Wild Blueberry Festival pie-eating contest as the defending champ.

This year's pie-eating lineup includes reigning champion, Colchester RCMP Cpl. Addie Mccallum; Jillian MacLaughlin, winner of Big Brother Canada Season 1; Const. Robert Hunka of the Truro Police Service; Craig Matthews of the Truro Fire Service, Keith Gillis, owner of G&G computers, and Alyssa Roy of the Big Dog/Cat Country Summer Cruiser.

The kick-off event will be held at the Marigold Cultural Centre on Friday from 6 to 9 p.m. and will also include a free concert featuring J.P Cormier, a dog agility demo, gymnastics display, an array of wild blueberry concessions and more family fun.
