Lenten chowder luncheon

Community volunteer income tax program
APRIL 11 – Truro library. Completion of income tax forms for low income people. 5 to 8 p.m. Call 895-4183 for an appointment. Drop-ins welcome.
Open Door community prayer
APRIL 11 – First Baptist Church’s sanctuary, Prince Street, Truro. 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Offering personal prayer to the community. Wheelchair accessible.
APRIL 11 – Douglas Street Recreation Centre, Truro. 7:30 p.m. Shared lunch, door prize. Sponsored by the Y Senior Citizens Group. For ages 50 and older. Admission: $5.

Potluck supper, annual auction
APRIL 12 – Upper Stewiacke United Church. 4:30 to 5:30 p.m. Adults, $8, children five to 12, $5; preschoolers get in for free. Auction will start after the supper. Auction items will be on display during the supper.
APRIL 12 – Holy Trinity Hall, Maitland. 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. Choice of chowder or chili. Adults, $10; children, $5. Proceeds for the Parish of Maitland.
Colchester SPCA fundraiser
APRIL 12 – Chili supper orders. St. David’s United Church, Bible Hill. Pre-orders only. One litre for $12. Orders can be picked up from 2 to 5 p.m. Call Mary at 673-2917 to place an order.
Maple syrup festival
APRIL 12 – Sharon Presbyterian Church hall, Dean. 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Craft and pantry table, old-time music, tours of the maple woods from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Adults, $8; children 12 and younger, $3; preschoolers get in for free. Sponsored by the board of managers.
Maritime Fiddlers annual workshop and concert
APRIL 12 – Bible Hill Junior High School. Instruction in fiddle and piano. Registration from 8:30 to 9:30 a.m. Adults, $25 includes lunch and concert; children 12 and younger, $8. Concert at 7 p.m. Cost: $7 to the public.
Spring fling flea market

Kidney foundation meeting

Boys and girls club 50th anniversary
APRIL 12 – Truro club celebrates its special anniversary with an open house from noon to 2 p.m. and tours between noon and 1 p.m. Victoria Street. Activities will include sucker pull, candy guessing, photo booth, face painting, bake sale, crafts and activities and more.
Chase the ace
APRIL 12 – Engine Room, Truro. 6 to 8 p.m. Tickets are $1 to win prizes and a chance to draw the ace of spades for more than $2,400.
