Eleanor was born in Montreal, Quebec but has lived in Truro for over 28 years. In her final hours, Eleanor was surrounded by those who loved her the most. They held her, sang to her, and shared fond memories. Eleanor will always be remembered for her fierce loyalty to her family, her kind demeanour, and her ability to see the best in everyone. She is survived by her loving husband and loyal companion of over 50 years, Edwin Cooney; daughter Andrea Cooney of Truro; daughter Erin (Jeff) Deuville of Valley; son Rob (Andy Martin) Cooney of Ottawa; Grandchildren, Brett Deuville, Julia Deuville, Breanna Cooney, Finley Cooney and Delliah Cooney; Brother Alan (Carolyn) Blair of Mt. Albert Ontario; Sister Janet (Don Cook) Blair of Coquitlam, B.C. and many nieces and nephews. A celebration of her life will be held at Valley United Church on August 16th at 3 p.m. with a reception to follow. “Only the good die Young”
