TRURO, N.S. – A Valley man who pled guilty to several counts of theft has been given a suspended sentence and placed on probation for nine months.

Colby Tyler Harris, 23, of Second Court, pled guilty to stealing from the NSLC, FYI Doctors and the Atlantic Superstore between May 9 and July 30, 2017.

He was ordered to pay restitution of $40.98 to the NSLC and $470 to FYI Doctors and must complete 30 hours of community service.

As part of his probation conditions, Harris is not permitted to consume alcohol or use illicit drugs and he is banned from entering establishments where alcohol is sold as a primary source of business.

Harris must also take counselling for alcohol consumption, drug use, mental health issues and grief management.

He is also not permitted on the premises of the three businesses where the thefts occurred.
