Police are investigating the case of a woman who drove nearly 18 kilometres in the wrong direction on Highway 102 early Monday after crashing her car into another vehicle as she got on the highway at the Hammonds Plains exit.

“The white car struck another vehicle on the ramp, causing minor damage, and kept on going,” said an RCMP news release.

As Mounties responded to the call, they heard a car of the same description“left the roadway, struck the ditch, and was facing the wrong direction,” said the release.

Mounties requested the 24-year-old woman from Halifax take a breathalyzer test, which she refused. She is facing charges of impaired driving and refusing the breathalyzer.

The driver is slated to appear March 21 in Dartmouth provincial court.
