A Havre Boucher man’s body was found by RCMP divers Wednesday in his truck, which was submerged in about five metres of water at the end of the community’s wharf.
The 65-year-old man told his family he was going fishing Tuesday at about 4 p.m., RCMP said in a news release.
Family members began looking for him after he didn’t return home that evening. Just before noon Wednesday, they located his truck in the water.
Antigonish district RCMP and the Havre Boucher Volunteer Fire Department responded to the call. The RCMP dive team was called in to assist with the recovery of the vehicle.
The man’s body was discovered inside the truck at about 9:45 p.m. Wednesday.
An autopsy was expected to be performed Thursday, police said.
The investigation into the fatality continues, RCMP said, but foul play is not suspected.
