TRURO HEIGHTS, N.S.

RCMP is looking for the driver of a semi-trailer truck, who was involved in a motor vehicle accident Friday, May 18, and left the scene.

At 6 p.m., Colchester District RCMP, EHS and Truro Fire Service responded to a motor vehicle collision in the southbound lane of Highway 102.

On investigating, they found a white semi-trailer truck that was not hauling a trailer, had collided with a car, causing it to spin out of control and slam into the centre cement median. A passenger in the vehicle was transported to hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

Initially, the driver of the semi-trailer truck pulled over, but then left the scene without checking on the status of the people in the vehicle or providing details. It is believed the semi-trailer truck would have red paint transferred from the car, on its front right corner.

Anyone with information about this collision is asked to contact Colchester District RCMP at 902-896-5000 or 1-800-803-RCMP (7267). To remain anonymous call Nova Scotia Crime Stoppers toll free at 1-800-222-TIPS (8477.
