WILEVILLE, NS
Shortly before midnight on Tuesday (March 20) Lunenburg District RCMP were contacted by residents in Wileville, after a man knocked on the back door of homes demanding to use the telephone.
The first person to call police said the man claimed to have been run over by a car, but when they offered to make a call for him, he became agitated and yelled at them before leaving.
While searching the area for the man, RCMP were advised by another resident that the same man came to their door demanding to use the telephone. When denied access to the home, he began yelling at the resident and started walking north on Highway 325.
RCMP have not been able to locate the man.
"If someone comes to your door seeking your assistance or wanting to use your phone, it's your decision whether or not to let them in," said Lunenburg District RCMP Sgt. Mark MacPherson. "There is nothing wrong with telling the person to wait while you call 911."
The man is described as being in his early twenties, short, with short dark hair and wearing a dark jacket. Anyone with information about him is asked to call Lunenburg District RCMP at (902) 527-5555.
