TRURO, N.S. – A Truro man who threatened to use a knife while assaulting another man was given a conditional discharge and placed on probation for 12 months this week in provincial court.

Nicholas Mitchell Boyd, 27, of King Street, must also complete 20 hours of community service within the first six months of his probation and also successfully take counselling for anger management, mental health issues, grief management and life skills.

Boyd was further ordered to provide a DNA sample and is banned from using firearms or weapons for two years.

He was also issued a $100 victim surcharge fine.
