TRURO, N.S. - We knew it had to happen sooner or later. Winter is coming.
Environment Canada has issued a special weather alert for Nova Scotia this weekend as a low-pressure system heads towards the province.
Environment Canada says, “At this time there remains some uncertainty in the intensity and track of this low pressure system,” but possible rain and snow could hit the province as the system moves through on Saturday before setting over the northern Gulf of St. Lawrence on Sunday evening.
Strong northeasterly winds and high surf are also predicted, but as it is too early to predict the track or intensity of the storm, the public is advised to monitor forecasts for changes and further statements.
