Police searching for machine gun stolen from legion in Dartmouth

Police are asking for the public’s assistance in locating a collector Tommy gun and magazine.

The gun, which is about 90 years old and is inoperable, had been in a glass display case and was screwed to a brick wall in the front lobby of the building.

 Police were told the gun was stolen from the Royal Canadian Legion Branch 31, on King Street, some time between Oct.18 at 7 p.m. and Oct. 21 at 7 p.m.

Anyone with information about this stolen gun is asked to contact police at 902-490-5016. Anonymous tips can be sent to Crime Stoppers by calling toll-free 1-800-222-TIPS (8477), submitting a secure web tip at www.crimestoppers.ns.ca or texting a tip - Tip 202 + a message to 274637.
