Police called to incident involving a machete in Dartmouth

Investigators with the Halifax Regional Police's sexual assault investigation team of the integrated criminal investigation Division have charged a 76-year-old man in relation to a historical sexual assault that occurred in Halifax in the 1980s.

DARTMOUTH, NS

Halifax Regional Police officers responded to a report of an altercation between two men, with one of them having a machete, on January 2.

Around 9:45 p.m. police arrested a 35-year-old man at Best Street, in Dartmouth. The man was charged with several weapons offences, property damage and making threats. The men are known to each other and there were no significant injuries during the incident.
