Around 5:40 on May 20 a man showed an employee of Fraser’s Guardian Pharmacy a gun tucked into the waistband of his shorts, and demanded narcotics. He fled on foot with the drugs and no one was hurt.

RCMP, Cape Breton Regional Police and Halifax Regional Police worked together and four Glace Bay men were charged with robberies that took place across the province between April 30 and May 20.

Two of the men, Bryan Joseph Conron, 32, and George Thomas MacIsaac, 56, have been charged in connection with the Bible Hill robbery.

All four men appeared in court in Sydney Thursday and were ordered remanded pending the outcome of bail hearings scheduled for May 29 and June 8.

Other businesses robbed include pharmacies in Antigonish and Lower Sackville, Circle K Irving in Sydney, Jack’s Convenience store in Glace Bay, and the Lingan Golf and Country Club in Sydney.

Police have recovered what they believe to be the weapon used in the robberies.
