TRURO - The largest waste hauler in Colchester Country has been sold.

Truro Sanitation Ltd. was sold Thursday along with PBS Waste Services Ltd. to Miller Waste of Ontario. PBS Waste Services Ltd. is the largest waste hauler in Cumberland County.

According to a news release, Earl Casey, president and owner of the Casey Group of Companies made the decision to sell while the two businesses were doing very well and had reached peak value under his control.

 

No financial details of the sale were released.

In 1995, Casey purchased Truro Sanitation Ltd. Since that time, it has continuously been awarded the municipal waste collection contracts for Truro and Colchester County and was recently awarded an eight-year contract for Colchester County.

The Casey Group of companies includes; Casey Concrete Ltd., Scotia Hyundai, Amherst Auto (NAPA) and Scotia Self-Storage. The Casey Group is partners in Casey-Metro Ltd. and BP Trading Ltd.
