TRURO, N.S. – Pye Chevrolet has been named as the successful bidder for the purchase of a new pickup truck by the Municipality of Colchester County.
Pye’s bid of $28,023 (plus HST) was the second lowest of four bids received by the county.
A staff report to council, however, said the lowest bid, which was provided by Blaikies Dodge, was not accepted because that tender was deemed to be incomplete and did not meet all requirements, in part because the proposed vehicle lacked a number of the functions and components listed in the request for quotations.
The truck is to be used by the Debert Water Utility/Debert maintenance staff.
The purchase price includes the trade-in of two other pickup trucks: a 2010 Chevy Silverado and a 2010 Ford Ranger.
The four bids, from lowest to highest are:
Blaikies Dodge – $21,233.75
Pye Chevrolet – $28,023
Hollis Ford – $30,342
Truro Toyota – $38,074.50
