Garnier, 29, of Halifax will stand trial in November on charges of second-degree murder and interfering with human remains in the September 2015 killing of Campbell.
Defence lawyer Joel Pink is making two applications to present information during the trial relating to Campbell's prior sexual activity and her employment records.
The Crown, however, will be attempting to have the two defence applications sealed unless and until there is a ruling by the court that they are admissible at trial and not subject to a confidentiality order or publication ban.
The Crown also wants the two applications to be heard in camera and be subject to a publication ban.
The Crown anticipates there will be an initial argument during next Tuesday's hearing, to determine whether the merits of the defence applications should be held in camera. The Crown is also seeking that this initial argument also be held in camera and be subject to a publication ban.
Garnier is out on bail under the supervision of his parents.
